The Power of Network Referrals

I recently have joined a BNI Networking Group, and it made me realize how powerful networking can really be! The best thing about Network Referrals is that it doesn’t cost you a dime! It’s very easy to get started and you can find information at every turn!

THE IDEA OF RECIPROCITY IS EASY, THE MORE YOU HELP, THE MORE YOU GET BACK!

Stop and think about people in your life that you are willing to help and willing to go the extra mile for. These are people who have reciprocated that same willingness to help you in a time of need. Same idea just apply it to your everyday business practices. I recently have joined the Bloomington One BNI networking group, which is a very successful networking group of people who meet on Thursdays for breakfast. Now that I have learned from some of the more senior members of the group, I see exactly how being willing to help others businesses brings myself more business in return! Within the context of all networking groups, most people who adopt and bring this philosophy to light find themselves giving business to members of their group. This creates an eagerness for the group to find business for you, when you have multiple people you and your business have helped, it is then that you begin to get a referrals yourself! So why not starting giving now?

GIVE SOME OF YOUR TIME

Setup a 1-to-1 meeting with your members, grab a cup of coffee with them and listen. Really listen to what they have to say and take a deeper dive into those people. This builds the foundation for a strong relationship and for them to give back to your business. This really means give them your focus, make a suggestion or two about how they might be able to improve their sales strategy or techniques for marketing. You might just learn a thing or two yourself.

GIVE A LITTLE SUPPORT

During your 1-to-1s, if you hear a great idea help them build on it. Perhaps they will hear your idea and help you build on yours! This is impactful when planning and strategizing your plan of attack for business growth and prosperity. If you focus on building and supporting the people of your network, then they will help you in return! It really can grow into a team atmosphere very quickly. You now have a room of 20+ people who are advocates of your business. Because you took the time and shown effort to help, you will create a team of people who are helping build your brand!

VISIT OTHER GROUPS

As you embark on a ‘giver’s gain’ philosophy and begin to meet like minded people. You will start to hear of several other successful groups and chapters. People will begin to ask you to visit your chapter so they can introduce you to other like minded people! This is exactly why you should network, so you can grow your outreach,  build your brand, and to be surrounded by like minded people whom are willing to help you just as much as you are them!
