Web Design Process
We gather all the required information from you that we will need. That will include inspirational sites/designs that you like, logo graphic files, any additional images you would like us to include, the main purpose of the site (email leads, phone calls, online purchasing, etc.), and define the general flow of the site.
Once we receive all of this information, we will begin the mockup phase. This usually takes between 3-5 business days. We then send you a link to the mockup designs that you will be able to view (they will be flat files, not functional websites). This is the proof of your new web design, just like you get with other print materials. You will then review the mockups, we make any changes you would like and then after you approve the design we move into the development phase.
Website Development Process
When the design mockup is approved we convert the multi-layered image file into working code that can be viewed by a web browser, like Chrome, Safari, etc. Once converted into code and separate images, we then *typically* integrate that into a content management system. By doing so, this gives you the power to easily manage your own website text, images, pages, etc. Full control of the site, in a very intuitive, easy to use system that requires no special software. In fact, we will give you a 2-hour training on how to use the system at project completion. We want you to feel comfortable with your site, and we will work hard to not only show you how to use it, but also answer all the questions you have as you are in the driver’s seat! The entire development process usually takes between 5-8 business days.
Now that we are out of development, we do bug testing while we receive the content from you. Content is all of the text, images, and all other items you would like to include throughout the site. To help expedite this process, we need you will begin working on the content right from the start and throughout the design/development phase. Not having the content prepared can significantly delay the completion date.
Launching The New Design
Once completed, we will launch your new website on any web host you prefer. We offer web hosting packages, but if you have a host that you love, we will help you get the site launched there. Unlike many other web design companies in Phoenix, we give you the site and all the source files to do what you want with. Many companies keep the files local to their system in a proprietary environment, forcing you to use them as your provider. Not us. You can take it anywhere you’d like, and well help you get it there!
Once we launch the site, it will be very important for you to continue to work at adding more content; pages, products, etc. We will always be here to support your ongoing needs after the launch. We want to make sure that you love your site and feel comfortable updating it. If you have general questions or a small need, there is typically no charge. Should you have more in-depth needs, we can help you at an hourly rate, prorated in half-hour increments.
